MG Hector Plus Introductory Offer Ends – Prices Hiked By Rs 46k – RushLane

Launched in July, the introductory prices for the Hector Plus were valid for one month only

MG Motor has increased the prices of the recently launched six-seater Hector Plus by up to Rs 46,000. With this, the introductory price offer comes to an end. During the official launch in July, MG Motor has made it clear that the prices at which they were offered are introductory which would have been updated a month later.

The Hector Plus prices now start from Rs 13.74 lakh for the base Style variant. For the top-end Sharp diesel variant price is Rs 18.69 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. At the time of launch, the makers had suggested an expected price hike of up to Rs 50,000 once the introductory period is over. However, the company has incremented the prices by a comparatively lesser amount.

Variant-Wise Prices:

The base-spec diesel trim will have the most impact of the price hike whereas the Smart petrol DCT variant, as well as the Smart and Super diesel variants, will have the least impact on the price chart of Hector Plus. In comparison to its smaller sibling, the Hector Plus is Rs 80,000 dearer to the 5-seater Hector SUV. With the six-seater Hector Plus, the consumers get two captain seats in the middle row of the SUV. In the third row, there are seats which are most suitable for kids or young teenagers.

Differences between Hector and Hector Plus

At the exterior, there are a few design tweaks visible in the Hector Plus to distinguish from its 5-seater sibling. For instance, the plastic and chrome elements found on the Hector is not present on the Hector Plus. Both the front and rear bumpers have been reworked. Even at the interior, the Hector Plus gets a more premium tan brown leather upholstery instead of the black upholstery in the Hector.

As far as features are concerned, MG carries forward all the creature comforts of the Hector to the six-seater SUV. It offers features such as powered front seats, Infinity sound system, a 10.4-inch touchscreen infotainment system compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof and ambient lighting among many more. In addition, it also gets a swipe open feature for opening the tailgate automatically which is quite useful when one’s hands are full.

Powertrain Options

In terms of powertrains, it gets the same options as the Hector- a 1.5-litre turbo-charged petrol engine and a 2.0-litre diesel engine. The former produces a power of 142 bhp whereas the latter cranks out 168 bhp. While a six-speed manual gearbox comes as standard for both the units, a 7-speed DCT is available with petrol powertrain only. Customers also get the option of a Hybrid petrol variant in which the engine is mated to a 48V mild hybrid system.
